4. Pets & Animals

Host Responsibilities

  • Disclosure: The Host must disclose the presence of pets in the home before the Helper agrees.
  • Pet Care Supplies: The Host is responsible for providing food, bedding, and supplies for pets unless otherwise agreed.
  • Safety and Behavior: Pets must be safe, healthy, and non-aggressive.

Helper Responsibilities

  • Pet Care Agreement: Helpers may assist with pet care tasks only if explicitly outlined in the services agreement.
  • Time and Effort: Pet care must not interfere with primary duties.
  • Respect for Pets: Helpers must treat pets humanely. Abuse or neglect is grounds for immediate termination.

4.2 Pets Brought by Visitors

  • Host's Discretion: The Host may deny permission based on allergies, space, or rules.

  • Mitigation: Both parties should take reasonable steps to accommodate health concerns.

4.5 Pet Emergency Procedures

  • Veterinary Care: Contact the Host immediately. If unavailable, Helper may take pet to designated vet.
  • Costs: Host covers all veterinary costs unless otherwise agreed.

4.6 Pet-Related Damages

  • Host Responsibility: Host is responsible for damages caused by their pets to Helper's belongings.
  • Helper Responsibility: Helper is responsible for damages to pets due to negligence.
  • Visitor Liability: Visitors are solely liable for damages caused by their pets.

4.7 Termination Due to Pets

  • Immediate Termination: If pets pose safety risk, cause damage, or significant disruption.
  • Notice Period: For non-critical issues, written notice of 14 days before termination.

5. Parking Agreement

5.1 Parking Procedure

  • The Helper agrees to park only in the designated area and to follow any parking rules or local regulations.
  • If parking on the street, the Helper will comply with all city or local parking ordinances.
  • The Helper agrees to avoid blocking driveways, pathways, or other vehicles.

5.2 Vehicle Maintenance and Cleanliness

  • The Helper will ensure that their vehicle is well-maintained, free of fluid leaks, and clean to avoid damage.

5.3 Liability Disclaimer

  • The Helper is encouraged to maintain personal vehicle insurance to cover any incidents near the Host's residence.

6. Legal, Privacy & Platform Policies

Privacy expectations for Hosts and Helpers, ensuring protection of personal information.

6.1 General Principles — Mutual Respect

  • Both Hosts and Helpers must respect each other's privacy and personal boundaries.
  • Unauthorized access to personal information, spaces, or belongings is strictly prohibited.

6.2 Confidentiality

  • Personal information shared during the arrangement must remain confidential.
  • Do not disclose information to third parties without explicit consent.

6.3 Host Information

  • Hosts may disclose personal info to create a safe arrangement.
  • Helpers must not share or misuse this information.

7. Driving & Transportation Rules

Substitute Vehicles

  • Notify Helper in writing of substitutes.

Substitute Vehicles

  • Must meet compliance + insurance.
  • Inform LiveInHelper of vehicle changes.

Liability

  • Helper assumes full responsibility for incidents.
  • Releases LiveInHelper from claims.

Costs & Reimbursement

  • Host responsible for fuel/insurance/maintenance only if Helper uses Host-provided vehicle.

Driving Conduct

  • Operate vehicle safely and legally per traffic laws.

8. Agreement Terms & Exit Conditions

Procedures, notice periods, and conditions under which the agreement may be terminated.

8.1 Standard Termination

  • Notice Period: Both parties provide written notice (days configurable below).
  • Mutual Agreement: Termination can occur immediately if both parties agree in writing.
  • Final Responsibilities: Helper completes duties, Host settles payments, disputes resolved.

  • Violation of house rules.

  • Acknowledgment of Receipt: Required for notice to take effect.

9. Property Insurance

10. Financial & Payment Terms

All financial transactions are processed through Stripe.

  • Payouts to Helpers: Paid 10 days after the end of the service month.
  • Payouts to Hosts: Paid 10 days after the end of the service month.

10.2 10.2 Security Deposit

  • Host Deposit: $200 required on contract signing. Returned 30 days after contract end.
  • Helper Deposit: $500 required on contract signing. Returned 30 days after contract end.
All financial transactions are processed through Stripe using saved payment information. Hosts and helpers are billed on the 1st of each service month. Payouts arrive 10 days after month end. Security deposits: $200 host / $500 helper, refunded 30 days after contract end.
